This makes Freak Surf one of the most popular surf stations\u00a0in the world. The windsurfing station is located in the middle of a beautiful sandy bay. Even in the high season the waters are un-crowded because there is no mass tourism in the area. Non-surfers equally enjoy the friendly atmosphere, the wind-protected, tree-shaded area around the windsurfing station and the famous Vai Palm Beach that’s only 10 minutes away. We are also offering electricity, water supply, beach shower, sun beds, volleyball, evening entertainment and partys.<\/p>\n
There is no chance of drifting off shore as the bay is enclosed. We pride ourselves with our safety system and there is always at least one member of the crew on baywatch duty. A powerful motorboat and Jet Ski are available in case of an emergency.<\/p>\n

It has been 15 years since he opened the Freak Windsurf Centre in Palekastro together with his girlfriend Davina. He lives between Dakhla (Western Sahara), Palekastro (Greece) and London (UK). Co-Founder Davina is a fully qualified Yoga teacher and teaches Yoga at the beach every day.<\/p>\n

Kouremenos bay has a very impressive wind statistic and the wind is similar to Karpathos with app. 1 Beaufort less. From May to October the wind is blowing almost every day. Palekastro is a Meltemi Spot and due to the local thermal and funneling effect the wind is stronger. Palekastro might be the windiest place on earth between May and October.
